Adil’s Story

Others, Stories , Support

Adil has faced many challenges at a young age. After his mother died when he was still young, he lacked the mental and relational support he needed to flourish.  Due to an unstable home, he started sleeping on the streets periodically and went into foster care. After ageing out he still found himself with a lack of support and care. It is around that time that Adil met youth workers from GVYU’s Street Life program – a program that works with street entrenched and marginalized youth. Here, he found caring and loving adults that invested into his life. Adil is in a much more stable situation which led to him starting to invest into his own community through advocating for the needs of fellow youth in the foster care system.
