UrbanPromise Toronto is a Christian non-profit organization with over 20 years of experience serving in Toronto Community Housing. Children growing up in Toronto Community Housing face obstacles such as lack of resources, violence and the lure of drugs. Our mission is to reach children in Toronto Community Housing with the love of Jesus, and raise them into leaders, who restore their community. We are committed to a 20-year journey with a child and their family, to help them overcome the obstacles that poverty creates. Our strategy involves reaching children at a young age, forming meaningful relationships, focusing on academic, social and spiritual growth in our after-school programs and seasonal camps. Once in high school, they are given volunteer and employment opportunities and developed as leaders. With a team of support, these leaders are connected to a local church, pursue a college and career path to restore their community. www.urbanpromise.com
