“Throughout my journey as a calligrapher, I have always gravitated towards kindness quotes and bible verses. Union Gospel Mission provides the perfect platform to spread that kindness and love and I’m happy to be a part of the #IWill campaign. There can never be a shortage of kindness and I hope to spread it as far as possible with this campaign.”
Artist Michelle is pledging #iWill Create to end homelessness! Through her beautiful calligraphy, she’s raising funds to provide homeless guests with safe nights of shelter and life-saving connections.
“Ever since I was in middle school, I have volunteered in the Downtown Eastside with my church. I’ve had many meaningful conversations, heard many stories, and have had many laughs. By getting to know people, I was able to break the stigma I had previously. Now homelessness is something that strongly resonates with me and I knew that I wanted to do something meaningful. I researched a ton looking for a place that I knew was making a big difference in Vancouver. I didn’t expect to feel so connected to an organization the way I did with UGM.
“I am of a generation who feels strongly about their causes and is not afraid to share that. On social media we’re able to share the things closest to our hearts in a genuine and authentic way, naturally creating a chain reaction.”
