Poverty Leaders Guide

God, Theology

Jack Keller Jr., editor of the study text, begins the book with a powerful quote: “The biblical message of salvation is both a comfort and a promise to the poor and, at the same time, a call to those of us who are not materially poor to be connected with God’s vision of shalom for all.”

In reading this book and other resource materials it is also clear that the message of salvation is a call to those who appear to “have” and those who obvi- ously do not “have,” to work alongside one another to ensure that God’s vision of abundant living for all becomes a reality.
