Refreshing Vision

The vision of Campus Crusade for Christ International* is that one day there will be spiritual movements everywhere so that everyone knows someone who truly follows Jesus.
Paul says in Romans 10, “How can they call on Him to save them unless they believe Him, and how can they believe in Him if they have never heard about Him? And how can they hear about Him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent?” (Romans 10:14-15)
The purpose of the Gospel is to bring Shalom – a Hebrew word that we translate as ‘peace’. But the concept of Shalom is much deeper. Shalom means absolute wholeness and complete flourishing in every dimension – socially, economically, physically and spiritually.
Now, I understand that to get to the place where everyone in the world knows someone who truly follows Jesus is a mammoth task. In ourselves, we could never hope to even make a dent, but we aren’t doing this by ourselves. Jesus told His disciples, “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth.”
As Paul said in II Timothy 1, verse 7, “The Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” (II Timothy 1:7)
Each of us needs a God-sent and God-inspired vision. I’m working towards a world where everyone knows someone who truly follows Jesus. That is the vision of Power of Change.
How long will it take to accomplish? That’s up to God. Our job is simply to help people know Jesus and experience His power to change the world. God will do the rest.
