Silver Linings and Sober Realities: The 2021 Richmond Food Asset and Need Scan was led by Union Gospel Mission, with a goal of assessing the current state of food access, needs, key stakeholders, and gaps in Richmond, BC, particularly considering significant changes made because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Included is a summary of key informant interviews with staff and volunteers from churches and community organizations that run supportive food programs for vulnerable individuals. This report is not an exhaustive list of food supports in Richmond, but instead aims to capture the overall availability of – and need for – further programs, where one service provider referred to this challenging season as one of sober realities and silver linings.
