Arnold’s Story

Self, Forgiveness , Identity

“Studying the Bible with Crossroads has made me kind, humble, happy, loving, and caring towards others.”

“Yes, I’m a Christian,” Arnold says. “I was born a Christian at a young age, but I got turned in the wrong direction. I followed the direction of crime and sin.”

Arnold is like many Crossroads students: despite their belief in Christ, they slid down a slippery slope that ended in prison. As many of us learn in our own lives, it is too easy to succumb to temptation.

When asked if there were any positive Christian mentors in his life, Arnold explains: “I have met many people along the way of the right road, but the person who helped me the most was Christ. In prison, I realized again how much He loves me. No matter what I do, He will always be by my side — even when no one else is. Even though it’s not easy, He gives His promise to be with us.”

We asked Arnold how Crossroads has impacted him since he discovered our courses in prison. “Studying the Bible and being a part of Crossroads has affected me positively,” he said. “It’s made me kind, humble, happy, loving, and caring towards others. I have realized you must always treat others the way you wanted to be treated! I have learned that no matter what, our sins — if we repent — will be forgiven.”
