Why Refugee Success Stories Don’t Tell the Whole Truth
What do Albert Einstein, Freddie Mercury, George Soros all have in common? They’re all refugees. All leaders in their fields.
Inasmuch Community Society provides transitional housing, settlement services, customized employment counseling, English Language training and basic living support for up to six months following an asylum seeker’s arrival in BC. Our purpose is to create a family, a home and a supportive community for refugee claimants.
We support them through the refugee claim process and share each other’s joys along the way. We create ongoing community through big family meals, and seasonal celebrations like Thanksgiving and Christmas. We walk alongside them through their journey and they become part of our family.
Our unique combination of personalized settlement services and Canadian cultural ESL tutoring has enabled folks to find work, volunteer, make friends and integrate very successfully into Canada.
Bottom line, we help our family members thrive in their new community and feel a true sense of belonging. Because, as our logo underlines, Inasmuch is their home.
