Reconciliation: Doing Our Part
Currently, around 90% of the core individuals Inner Hope serves are Indigenous.
Inner Hope serves youth and families in East Vancouver who have experienced intergenerational trauma. We come alongside youth and families who desire to break cycles of addiction, abuse and poverty through providing practical support, discipleship, life skills mentoring and housing. Our vision is to see youth and families equipped to live healthy lives and to empower the next generation. The demographic we serve includes single parent families and racially oppressed minorities. Approximately 90% of our community is of Indigenous descent. Many continue to suffer the impacts of colonization and the residential school system. It is through the process of living life together in a caring community that change happens. Inner Hope has connected with hundreds of youth and children since launching in 2007. Each year we walk alongside close to 250 individuals. We house an average of 6-8 young people and offer life skills mentoring for around 50 youth and young adults. Website: https://www.innerhope.ca/
