Education is key to unlocking a brighter future for generations of girls and boys—and no investment brings a greater return than educating girls.
Despite the Government of Rwanda’s prioritization of gender equity and women’s empowerment, many homes, communities, and classrooms still reflect traditional social norms that negatively affect girls’ confidence, and limit their ability to succeed beyond primary to secondary school.
To address these remaining challenges, Wellspring has launched a pilot program that trains teachers and leaders to recognize gender bias in their classrooms and create more supportive learning environments that meet the needs of every single child—especially girls.
