Your prayers are powerful. They reach all the way to Hantamu in Ethiopia. Just listen to what he has to say: “I believe in the power of prayer, and I know God responds.”

But how does he know that? Because God provided a way for his sister, Meseret, to go to school.

Not too long ago, Hantamu and Meseret were in a really difficult situation. Their mother died when Meseret was only one year old. Then, they learned Meseret had HIV. Hantamu was suddenly her caregiver, and as he remembers: “I was hopeless. We were helpless and vulnerable, and I couldn’t imagine what look life would look like for her.”

But it wasn’t long before Hantamu could say “we give glory to God.” Meseret is now able to receive regular medication, and slowly, the social stigma against HIV is improving.

Here’s where you came in. God used kind people like you to make a way for Hantamu and Meseret.

Meseret is able to attend school where she learns about God’s plan for her life. Where she sees selfless, loving role models who are shaping her dreams. “She sees people suffer and wants to be a doctor so that she can give service to others,” says Hantamu.

Thank you for praying. Thank you for giving. Thank you for shaping Meseret’s dreams.
